This is one of the very hard to locate early dated sixpences
of Charles I, as a whole the Charles I sixpences seem harder
to find than the Shillings, but the 1625-30 dated sixpences
are even tougher.
This appears to have been bent and straightened, but a fairly
decent portrait remains, except for some weakness in the nose
and mouth area.
The reverse is stronger, although '5' of the date is quite
weak.
I find it interesting that the Lis mintmark on this piece
appears on the left of the fourchee, and on the previous 1625s
I have owned it appears on the right.
Over all I would grade this in the Fine range.
